This private riverfront cabin is located in a quiet setting 5 miles south of Forks near the Bogachiel State Park Bridge. It is the perfect place to relax, float the river, enjoy campfires or read a book.

Services

The River

Fishermen's Hollow on the Bogachiel River has two cabins connected by covered decks. The main cabin is the great room, kitchen, eating area & bathroom. The bunkhouse has two bedrooms. One bedroom is riverside with one queen size log bed. The second bedroom has two queen beds. This is a perfect homebase location for hikers, fishermen, hunters, and Twilighters.

Wildlife

The riverbank is frequently visited bya local herd of elk, eagles, deer, river otters, and birds. You may be one of the lucky few and spot a bobcat or bear!Our feeders are out during the summer attracting hummingbirds

Fishing

The Olympic Peninsula offers many options for fisherman. The Bogachiel,Callawah, and Sol Duc Rivers merge at Three Rivers near LaPush. Contact us for fishing guide referrals.

Hiking in the Parks

If hiking is your passion, you will find many satisfying hikes on the Olympic Peninsula. At Lake Quinault you will experience beauty, wildlife and history wrapped into one package. The Quinault Valley is also known as the "Valley of the Giants" as you can see the largest Sitka Spruce tree in the world. There a several options of hikes, both short and long. The 31 mile loop road takes you around the lake to the south end of the Olympic National Park. The Quinault Rain Forest is one of the three temperate coniferous rain forests in the Western Hemisphere. These are the only true rain forests.There is over 12 feet of rain per year in the Quinault Valley. The Quinault Valley is also home to the Quinault Indian Tribe.The lake is surrounded by mossy old growth trees and is home to black bear, Roosevelt elk, black tail deer, cougar, bald eagle, cougar and bobcat.Sol Duc Hot Springs is our favorite hike. There is a nice trail which leads you to the Sol Duc Falls. If you are more interested in a back packing overnight, the trail continues on from there to the Seven Lakes Basin. The trailhead is a starting or ending point for long back packing trips which can extend either to the south into the Hoh Rain Forest or to the east with close links to Hurricane Ridge. Be sure to obtain official trail maps and overnight permits from the Wilderness Information Center (WIC) 360-565-3100 or visit their site using the National Parks link button.To view professional photographs of the area, please visit the links below. Hiking along the Coast

There are many options and access points for your hiking and camping experience all of which are withing the Olympic National Park. The southern portion of the Pacifc coast is Kalaloch Beach and is located directly on Highway 101. It is home to South Beach, Beach 1, 2, 3 and 4 as well as the famous Ruby Beach. These beaches are accessed by short walks on trail, some steep, down to beach.Moving north trails within the park include hiking from Oil City (off Highway 101) and Hoh Head. Just north of Forks from Highway 101, take Highway 110 to LaPush. This takes you to First Beach, Second Beach and Third Beach. Rialto Beach is located just north of La Push by taking Mora Road before reaching LaPush.The Rialto Beach area is also access points to Split Rock, Hole-in-the-Wall, Chilean Memorial and Cape JohnsonTo access Cape Alava you will need to travel farther north of Forks to Highway 113 going north to Clallam Bay. Follow the highway past Sekiu and turn left onto Hok-Ozette Road heading to Ozette Lake in Ozette you will find trailheads to Capa Alava and Sand PointPlease visit Dave Youngberg's site to view his wonderful photographyMake sure you visit the Wilderness Information Center (WIC) 360-565-3100 for Overnight Permits and trail maps.

Fishing and Hunting

The Olympic Peninsula is home to many fishing and hunting opportunities. The major rivers known for Steelhead and Salmon fish runs are the Sol Duc River, Bogachiel River, Quillayute River and the Calawah River. These rivers originate in various locations in the Olympic Mountains and flow toward the Pacific Ocean. The Town of Forks, Washington, was named after the joining of these rivers near LaPush.Below are some links to fishing guides and charters.

The cabin is 5 miles south of Forks making it an excellent home based for most recreational activities, families or small groups. It is designed to cater to those with lots of gear, sometimes very wet gear, with hooks and stowage under covered decks porches.
